Mamre Project Links to Learning

Links to Learning: Funded by the NSW Dept of Education and Training in partnership with Mamre, the Links to Learning program helps years 8-9 students in our local public high-schools who are considered “at risk” of not completing year 10.

Links to Learning

Our Links to Learning was one of the first pilots for the program in 2000. Since then over 500 students have benefited from this alternative learning experience at Mamre, where our unique rural environment provides almost unlimited opportunity for the development of innovative educational programs.

Our tutors design a broad range of alternative and creative learning opportunities to help young participants develop the essential survival quality of resilience, and achieve key competencies in:

  • Planning and organising activities
  • Working with others and in teams
  • Solving problems
  • Collecting, analysing, & organising information
  • Communicating ideas and information
  • Using mathematical ideas and techniques
  • Using technology

The 12 week program develops individual education or training pathways planning, linking them back to school and goals.
