Mamre offers Agistment Services in Sydney

Mamre has a long history of horse husbandry - going back to the early 1800s.

Photographs in the homestead show a gathering of the Mamre Hunt Club taken around 1860 depicting some 40 mounted gentlemen gathered for the chase.

Early aerial photographs of the property show the outline of the tanbark race track just across South Creek (then part of the property) where it is believed that Archer, winner of the 1860 and 1861 Melbourne Cups was trained before his epic walk to Melbourne for the race.

These connections with horses and horse sports are a valuable part of the Mamre history and validate our increasing involvement with horse activities today.

Agistment Services at Mamre

Mamre offers to a happy community of horse owners, some 60 hectares of paddocks with facilities including a picnic area, space for tack sheds, a secure fenced arena, and round yard.

At present only paddock agistment is available, however we have plans to develop individual yards with shelters for owners who prefer individual paddocks for their horses.
